Vegas nightclubs are their own economy - and the number of UK groups we watch pick the wrong venue and burn a whole night still surprises us. £4,000-8,000 table minimums are normal. Entry-only is £60-120 depending on how the door reads your group. Which venue you pick decides whether the night carries the trip or sinks it. Here is the actual guide - venues, prices, dress codes, and the door dynamics no tour operator explains because none of them work these rooms week in, week out.
The A-tier - six venues that matter
The Strip has probably 20 nightclubs. Seven of them are what UK groups actually want:
- Omnia (Caesars Palace) - 75,000 sq ft, big-name DJ residencies (Calvin Harris legacy, now rotating), the most Instagram-y. Strict door. Tue/Thu/Fri/Sat, with Tuesday running as the industry night (lower minimums, DJs and dancers in the room on their nights off).
- XS (Encore) - the highest-grossing nightclub in the US for a decade running. Attached to Encore. Fri/Sat/Sun (yes Sunday). Huge outdoor pool integrated into the venue.
- Zouk (Resorts World) - newest of the A-tier, opened 2021. Strong Asian DJ residencies (Jamie Foxx surprise sets happen here). Fri/Sat.
- Marquee (Cosmopolitan) - indoor + outdoor levels, dayclub attached. Moderate door. Sat is peak; Thursday is the industry night (lower minimums).
- Tao (Venetian) - Asian-fusion aesthetic, longer-running (since 2005). Attached to a similarly-named restaurant. Thu/Fri/Sat.
- Hakkasan (MGM Grand) - operated by Tao Group. Long-running Strip mainstay, deep resident-DJ bench, one of the more forgiving A-tier doors. Thursday is the industry night - lowest minimums of any A-tier venue that night, DJ-heavy crowd.
- LIV (Fontainebleau) - Miami-import, opened late 2023. New enough that the crowd is still finding it. Strict door.
Everything else on the Strip is a tier down - fine for a first-timer walk-in but not where a group should build the night around.
What a table actually costs
Table service in Vegas is a minimum spend you commit to hitting on drinks and bottles. Not a table rental fee. If you don't hit it in bottles/drinks, you pay the difference.
Typical minimums by tier:
- Second-tier tables at any A-venue: $1,500-$3,000 (~£1,200-£2,400)
- Mid-tier / dance-floor edge: $3,000-$6,000 (~£2,400-£4,700)
- Prime (DJ booth or main dance floor centre): $6,000-$15,000+
- XS Big Daddy / EBC "Big Daddy" and similar hero tables: $15,000-$30,000+
On top of the minimum: - 15% venue gratuity (added automatically) - 8.375% Nevada sales tax on top
So a $3,000 table is a $3,700 real total. A group of 8 splitting it: about $460/head all-in. That's roughly the cheapest way to do a proper A-tier Vegas nightclub night as a group.
Entry-only - what it actually costs
Every A-tier nightclub sells general-admission entry:
- Men: $40-100 depending on the night, plus 20% tip built into the door
- Women: $30-60, sometimes waived Sun/Thu
- Line: 30 min to 2 hours on Fri/Sat. Longer if you don't know what you're doing.
Ways to skip / discount the line: - Guest list before 11pm - most venues run a "before 11pm free entry" for women, before-midnight discount for men. Sign up via the venue's own promoter page. - Hosted entry - a promoter walks you past the line for a $20 tip. Works, but you'll be relentlessly upsold to bottle service inside. - Concierge introduction - if you're staying at the same hotel as the club (XS + Encore, Omnia + Caesars, etc.), your hotel concierge can call the door. Tip the concierge $20-50 for the favour. - Book a table - obvious but true; table guests skip the entire line via the VIP entrance.
For a group of 4-6 lads on a stag doing three nights, tables one or two nights + entry-only the third is the smart mix.
Dress code - actually enforced

Men - non-negotiable: - Dark jeans or dressy trousers (never shorts) - Collared shirt or fitted dressy tee - Leather shoes or clean smart trainers (never sports runners) - No hats indoors - No sports jerseys / football shirts
Women - much looser, but no beachwear, no gym gear, no obviously offensive slogans.
Stag/hen accessories: matching plain t-shirts fine at most venues. Sashes, tiaras, feathers OK at Marquee/Tao. Refused at Omnia/XS. Inflatable phallic anything: refused everywhere. Take the group photo outside then put the loud accessories away.
Best nights by venue (rough guide)
Vegas nightclub scheduling is DJ-led - the best night depends on who's playing. But rough shape:
- Omnia: Sat is peak, biggest DJ names Fri and Sat. Tuesday is Omnia's industry night - lower minimums, DJs and dancers on the floor.
- XS: Sun (Nightswim, indoor + outdoor) is the flagship, Sat close second, Fri third
- Zouk: Sat > Fri
- Marquee: Sat > Fri > Thu (Thursday is the industry night, lower minimums)
- Tao: Fri > Sat > Thu
- Hakkasan: Fri > Sat > Thu (Thursday is Hakkasan's industry night)
- LIV: Fri and Sat, still finding its crowd
If you're only doing one night, Saturday any of these. If you're doing three nights on a stag, mix - Marquee Sat, XS Sun (Nightswim is proper), Hakkasan or Omnia Thu (industry night; better value).

The tourist-tax mistakes to avoid
Six recurring UK-visitor mistakes:
- Buying from the guys on the Strip with the flyers - inflated, no attribution to the actual door.
- Booking through third-party ticket sites - 20-40% markup on general admission for no reason.
- Turning up in shorts - refused at the door, deposit lost on any pre-paid bottle service.
- Not booking dinner before the club - no dinner + 3 drinks in 90 min + line for 60 min = one of your group is done by midnight.
- Bottle-service groups splitting bills 12 ways at end of night, in the dark - pick ONE person on the group card at the start, invoice each other later.
- Trying to walk into XS at 12:30am Saturday - line is 90 min plus. Get there by 10:30-11pm or you'll waste an hour.
