Format is night-only - gates open around 7pm, close around 5:30am. Three nights back-to-back. Eight stages (kineticFIELD, cosmicMEADOW, circuitGROUNDS, neonGARDEN, wasteLAND, bassPOD, quantumVALLEY, stereoBLOOM). 200+ artists across the weekend.
The daytime is yours - pool days, brunch, sleep. This is a rare festival format where you can genuinely sightsee Vegas on the same trip.
Ticket tiers - what you're paying for
Prices are 2026 baselines; 2027 tickets usually go on sale in October-November 2026 with tier pricing.
- 3-day General Admission: ~$450-500 USD (~£350-400). Basic entry, no upgrades.
- 3-day GA+: ~$650-720 (~£500-570). Premium bathrooms, dedicated entry lanes, food/beverage discounts.
- 3-day VIP: ~$1,150-1,400 (~£900-1,100). Elevated viewing decks at four main stages, VIP-only bars, air-conditioned lounges, expedited entry, cash bar with premium options.
- 3-day EDC Passport: ~$3,000+ (~£2,400+). Golf cart transport, side-stage viewing, all-inclusive food and drink, private restrooms. What promoter partners of the festival buy.
Single-night tickets exist but only make sense if you fly in specifically for a Friday-only or Saturday-only. If you're already going to Vegas that weekend, 3-day is materially better value.

Flights - book EARLY
EDC drives massive UK-to-Vegas demand across those 3-4 days. Airfares go up 50-100% vs the same weekend in April or June.
- Book by mid-December 2026 for reasonable BA/Virgin prices to EDC 2027 (£650-900 return non-stop).
- Wait until March 2027 and you're paying £1,200-1,600 return, sometimes worse.
- Norse Atlantic from LGW occasionally has cheaper seats if you're flexible.
Arrive Wednesday or Thursday so you have a full day to acclimatise before Friday night. Depart Monday or Tuesday to avoid the Sunday-night exodus.

Where to stay
Insomniac runs an official partner hotels programme with shuttle transport - worth considering. Otherwise:
- Circa (Downtown, has EDC-partnered shuttles) - $450-700/night during EDC. Stadium Swim daytime pool is exactly the recovery format you want.
- Fontainebleau (North Strip, opened late 2023) - $600-1,000/night during EDC. LIV Beach for pool recovery, one of the shorter walks to a north-Strip shuttle pickup, and the newest hotel base for EDC weekend.
- Wynn/Encore - $650-1,000/night. XS Nightswim on Sunday is the after-EDC crossover night.
- Cosmopolitan - $550-900/night. Marquee Dayclub for recovery.
Skip the far south Strip (Mandalay, Luxor, Excalibur) - you're adding 20+ minutes each direction to the shuttle route.
All prices roughly double vs normal Vegas weekend rates. Book by January.
Getting to the Speedway
Speedway is 15 miles north of the Strip. Options:
- EDC Shuttle Pass (~$150 for the weekend) - official shuttle from designated Strip hotels. Air-conditioned, reserved seat, drops at the festival gates. This is what most UK visitors should buy.
- Maverick Helicopters - Vegas's largest tourism helicopter operator runs private festival transfers to the Speedway. Skip the shuttle queue entirely, ~10-minute flight, arrive at a dedicated LZ near the gates. Expensive but genuinely brilliant for a milestone group or the middle night after the shuttle grind wears you down. - Uber/Lyft: surge pricing is brutal. Expect $100-200 one-way at peak arrival hours. Coming back at 5am after the sets is worse - hour+ waits, $150-250 fare.
- Rental car with parking pass ($100+ per night for on-site parking): only makes sense for 4+ people staying somewhere with parking.
- Party bus / private van for a group of 6+: worth it if you can split the ~$1,500-2,500 for the weekend.
Whatever you do, do NOT plan on hailing a cab back at 5:30am. That way lies queueing for two hours in the desert.
What to bring / what to wear
Vegas in May is warm days (mid-30s C) and cool desert nights (12-18°C at 4am). You need:
- Comfortable trainers you can walk 15,000+ steps/night in - new shoes are a mistake
- Backpack or hydration pack - official brands allowed, check the size limits on the EDC bag policy page
- Light layers - start in a tee, add a hoodie by 2am
- Water bottle (empty going in - free refill stations inside)
- Sunscreen - even at night you'll get some sun during pre-arrival
- Earplugs - proper ones. Your ears will thank you.
- Wet wipes / small towel - desert dust is real
- Small first aid: plasters, paracetamol, electrolyte tabs
Don't bring: outside food, professional cameras, drones, glass, weapons, illicit anything. Search is thorough.
Outfits: EDC has a genuine costume/kandi culture - rave outfits, kandi bracelets exchanged with strangers ("PLUR" - Peace Love Unity Respect). UK groups can dress fully or minimally; both work. First-timers keep it simple.
Sleep strategy
Three nights of 5:30am end + noon-3pm wake is brutal even for hardened UK ravers. What works:
- Wednesday/Thursday: acclimatise, sleep normally. Jet lag actually helps - you're closer to Vegas time by Friday.
- Friday afternoon: nap 2-4pm. Wake, eat, hydrate, festival gates 7pm.
- Friday night 7pm-5:30am. Home at 6-7am.
- Saturday: sleep till noon. Poolside 12-4. Nap 4-6. Eat 6-7. Gates again.
- Sunday: same rhythm.
- Monday: recovery day. Sleep in, brunch, spa, calm dinner. Fly Tuesday.
Skipping Friday night's sleep to power through Saturday afternoon is where most first-time attendees crash. Pool days between festival nights aren't optional - they're recovery.
Layering Vegas nightlife on top
Here's the operator move most first-timers miss: the Strip empties out during EDC nights. Everyone worth partying with is 15 miles north at the Speedway. Which means the daytime pool scene on EDC weekend is arguably the best pool weekend of the year - top DJs booked at the pools between festival sets, softer crowds than a standard summer Saturday because half the usual Vegas visitors are conserving energy for the Speedway, and the whole city's rhythm shifts toward daytime.
Pool days aren't just recovery - they're the second event of the weekend. Book a proper cabana at LIV Beach, OMNIA Dayclub, Tao Beach, or Palm Tree Beach Club for the Saturday between festival nights. The DJ lineup is often stacked with EDC-adjacent names doing daytime crossover sets. Cabana pricing tends to run slightly softer than a normal peak-summer Saturday for the same reason - everyone's saving up for the Speedway.
EDC afterparties at Strip clubs are legit too - the festival DJs frequently do "surprise" late-late sets at XS, Omnia, Zouk, Marquee starting around 5:30-6am Sat, Sun, Mon. If you're an all-in raver, plan for one afterparty ticket (usually sold separately).
